Gourmet
on Tour Ltd. collects information from our users at several
different points on our website, primarily for our newsletter
and for course registration with third-party schools and tour
operators. Gourmet on Tour Ltd. will not sell, share, or rent
the information we collect to others in ways different from
what is disclosed in this statement.
When you browse this website, you are able to do so anonymously. We don’t
collect personal information when you browse—not even your email address.
Your browser, however, does automatically tell us the type of computer
and operating system you are using. This data is collected in the aggregate,
that is, we know only the total number of users using a particular browser
or operating system.
Course Registration
We request information from the user on our course registration form or
through other methods such as faxes or the telephone. On the website, a
user must provide contact information (like name and address) and sometimes
financial information (like credit card number and its expiration date).
This information is used for billing purposes and to confirm a customer’s
course registration.
Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track user
movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP
addresses are a common statistic obtained from a server’s software
and are not linked to any particular name or physical address. IP addresses
are not linked to personally identifiable information nor do we make any
attempt to do so. (An IP address is a set of numbers like 212.222.22.2
and can vary each time you log on to the Internet; most internet service
providers use dynamic addresses, which means that each time you log on
to the Internet, you are assigned a temporary IP address.)
Sharing
We partner with schools and tour operators to provide specific courses
and services. When the user signs up for these courses and services, we
will share names or other contact information that is necessary for the
third party to confirm and provide these courses or services.

This web site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that Gourmet
on Tour Ltd. are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other
sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and
to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects
personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely
to information collected by this web site, gourmetontour.com.
Newsletter
If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter or receive information
about special Gourmet on Tour promotions, we ask for information such as
name and email address. This information is not shared, sold or traded
with any third party. After subscribing to our newsletter, users may unsubscribe
at any time without any delay.
In some of our email newsletters, we use a “click-through URL”.
When you click one of these URLs, you pass through our web server before
arriving at the web page or website that is your destination. We track
click-throughs to help us determine overall interest in particular topics
and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. We do not
monitor click-throughs for individuals; the only data we collect is the
aggregate number of click-throughs for a particular link.
Surveys and Contests
From time to time our site may request information from users via surveys,
promotions or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely
voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose
this information. Information requested may include contact information
(such as name and shipping address) and demographic information (such as
city or age). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and
award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring
or improving the use and satisfaction of this site. This information will
not be shared, traded or sold to any third party, unless expressly stated
otherwise in the survey, promotion or contest.
Tell-a-friend
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about
our site, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. Gourmet
on Tour Ltd. will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting
them to visit the site. Gourmet on Tour Ltd. temporarily stores this information
for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. After sending of the
email, the information is erased from our database.
Security
All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information
mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need
the information to perform a specific job (for example, an accounts person
or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally
identifiable information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date
on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time
new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about
the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our
customers’ information is protected.

Site and Service Updates
We will send the user any significant site and service announcement updates,
provided they have either subscribed to our newsletter or registered for
a course. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and
in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.
Correcting/Updating Personal Information
If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as your
email address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor
to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal
data provided to us. This can be done in the Help section.
Choice/Opt-out
Our users must “opt in” to receive our newsletter, and they are
given the opportunity to “opt out” at any time of having their
details in our newsletter database. Users who no longer wish to receive
our newsletter may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying
to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at newsletter@gourmetontour.com.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post links to those
changes on our home page so our users are always aware of what information
we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose
it. We will also include this change in an email to those users who have
subscribed to a newsletter. If at any point we decide to use personally
identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the
time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will
have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different
manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under
