Italy A Florentine Retreat

Immersed in the heart of Tuscan country side,  our splendid mansion is a place where refined elegance beckons total relaxation from the moment you arrive. Sitting on the banks of the Arno River, our 16th century Renaissance villa is surrounded by 20 acres full of lemon trees and olive groves. Its reflection on the Arno River reminds you a Renaissance painting of the most magnificent landscape.

Enjoy a delicious five-day Tuscan gastronomic journey with us, including hands-on cooking classes in our award-winning kitchen and learn our signature Tuscan dishes.  Join a private tour of the famed Chianti and discover exclusive wineries off the beaten track.

The location:

Located to the south of Florence, the villa is situated at the doorstep of the beautiful city and at the same time is the gateway to the famous Chianti wine region.  The villa is ideally positioned for day trips to the most notable villages within the Tuscan region. Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from nearby Florence center daily.

The villa:

Your base for the week is a beautiful Renaissance villa on the banks of the Arno River.  This has been home to several aristocratic families over the centuries. Today it has been magically transformed into an elegant residence boutique hotel. You will stay in one of our 38 deluxe rooms or suites with spectacular views of the Arno river and gardens.  All rooms have magnificent marble bathrooms with great view and large soaking tubs for long relaxing baths and are equipped with the highest level of luxury and modern comfort in historic settings.  The villa’s swimming pool and gardens sit among age old cypress trees overlooking the Arno River.

Gourmets will enjoy our restaurant, one of the top restaurants in Italy and highly acclaimed including Conde Nast Traveler.  Indulge in both Tuscan regional specialities and Mediterranean cuisine with ingredients freshly picked from the kitchen gardens.

The chefs and cooking courses

Our executive chef will share his secrets in preparing a traditional Tuscan menu with you.

You will learn about local fresh ingredients and cook up a delicious Tuscan meal each day.

Our chef will ensure that you will gain knowledge and confidence so that you can easily

replicate the dishes when you return back home.

After the cooking class, sample the delicious dishes in the kitchen with the chef.

Enjoy a tour of our chef’s secret garden that surrounds the villa and marvel at the views of the Tuscan hills of Chianti and Rufina.   The chef’s large garden provides the herbs and seasonable vegetables used in the fabulous dishes you will prepare and savour.

The wine cellar at our villa with its vaulted ceilings and rustic decor is another treasure.

You may organise private meals here or enjoy wine tasting with the sommelier.
